Interpolation - an electronic upsizing of the image file is performed using sophisticated algorithms to avoid pixilation by painting in the blanks ( read more ). Noise reduction - specialized software routines are employed to help reduce the noise which can be typical of digital photos at high ISO's Color correction - This step matches the color balance of the photo to the printer Sharpening - a routine designed to improve image 'crispness' Other - clone out dust or digital artifacts, perspective correction, rotation, brightness and contrast adjustments, etc. See an example of customer work Feel free to order and if the image is not suitable for the selected size, we'll tell you and give your money back and/or work with you to pick a different size. Some images may require extensive editing which can result in additional charges (we'll tell you first and you can opt out). | While digital has overtaken film as the photographer's choice, ponder this comparison: a drum-scanned 35mm image results in a 6000x4000 pixel file ( 24 megapixels ). Most consumer digital cameras are between 6-8 megapixels. Digital is awesome but the technology is still playing catch up to film resolution... that's where we come in.
